ENOVIA Document Management (DCM) enables documents to be managed under a single repository for enterprise access, regardless of the actual location where the documents are stored. Document are stored in vaults (electronic storage systems), which can be anywhere in network. Standard library and lifecycle functions such as check-in/out, search, and versioning are provided to facilitate document sharing and distribution in the enterprise.
What makes VPM’s document management a powerful application is the fact that it is tightly integrated with product definition and change management applications. Documents can be managed independently or, in case of product structure management, in relation to the products or parts that the documents represent. For instance, releasing a part may also release the CAD representation of the part.
The content of documents that have been saved in ENOVIA can be viewed using the 2D/3D viewers and any available browser plug-ins to facilitate product knowledge sharing in the enterprise. CAD representations attached to a product structure, for instance, can be launched together to a 2D/3D viewing session, enabling design review without costly CAD licenses.
Capabilities
- Provides a full range of change mechanisms that span the entire product lifecycle
- Addresses unique needs for managing changes in each product lifecycle with seamless transitions between each change mechanism
- Delivers Actions for managing changes in early product lifecycle phases
- Provides Engineering change requests (ECRs) and engineering change orders (ECOs) for multi-departmental change validation and order in mature product lifecycle phases
- Features tight change management integration with product definition
Highlights
- Share composite material information with extended teams DMU Composite Review 2 (CPR) extends the access of composite material defined in CATIA V5 to cross disciplines teams and suppliers. It fosters better communication and collaboration between the different stakeholders for a more efficient design to manufacturing process.
