Waterjet Cutting Leader Will Deploy V6 Solutions for Authoring, Collaboration, Simulation and Interactive Product Documentation

ORLANDO, Fla. — November 9, 2010 — Dassault Systèmes (DS) (Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA), a world leader in 3D and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions announced today that Flow International, the leader in ultrahigh-pressure waterjet cutting technology and systems, has adopted Dassault Systèmes’ flagship V6 portfolio of PLM solutions, including CATIA, ENOVIA, SIMULIA and 3DVIA.

Flow International, which employs approximately 600 people in twelve countries, will deploy V6 to design, analyze, manufacture, document and manage their product line, which include complex assemblies containing up to 90,000 parts each. The Dassault Systèmes solutions will also be used to facilitate program management, bill-of-materials management, product data management, supplier workflows, IP management, assembly requirements, field training, reporting, simulation, modeling and purchasing. Idex Solutions, a leading Dassault Systèmes value-added reselling partner, is implementing these solutions and migrating Flow’s legacy assemblies, parts and drawings to V6. Idex will also be integrating knowledgeware with Flow’s designs to decrease development time.

The Dassault Systèmes V6 portfolio will replace Flow’s current licenses of various engineering software solutions. Flow decided a single source of data would enable them to develop products more quickly, create a closed loop design to manufacturing environment and create a closed loop quality management system.

Craig Sunada, VP of Global Product Development for Flow International, put it succinctly when asked about his company’s attraction to Dassault Systèmes’ V6 portfolio: “This is the most innovative thing I’ve seen in PLM in the past 20 years. V6 will enable us to manage our products from concept through their complete lifecycle.”

“We’re excited about the sheer scale of Flow’s integration with DS V6 PLM,” said Steve Macri, vice president, PLM Value Selling, North America, Dassault Systèmes. “It’s great to see how innovative companies like Flow are taking advantage of cutting-edge V6 solutions like 3DLive and DesignSight. Flow’s field technicians will use 3DLive to pull up large complex assemblies to find specific part numbers to know exactly what they’re working on at any given time. Employees offsite are not ordinarily able to access a specific part number – but with 3D visualization if you can see it, you can find it, and that’s the beauty of V6.”

Leading Electric Car Maker Implements ENOVIA V6 to Streamline Product Development; DELMIA V6 and CATIA V6 Implementations Planned

PARIS, September 29, 2010 — Dassault Systèmes (DS) (Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA), a world leader in 3D and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions, announced today that electric car manufacturer Tesla Motors has committed to Dassault Systèmes’ V6 PLM solution — an open and scalable PLM platform that relies upon the universal language of 3D, while providing a strategic foundation for all communities to participate in the product lifecycle online. DS V6 PLM enables real-time global collaboration among anyone with a role in the product’s development, reducing the cost to deploy, manage and support a PLM system while encouraging innovation.

Tesla is beginning its upgrade to V6 with implementation of the ENOVIA V6 collaboration solution. Improvements and predefined templates in the latest ENOVIA release have enabled a successful pilot of the core solutions in just over a month, paving the way for a successful production implementation. Tesla is working with Dassault Systèmes’ partner Idex Solutions to migrate Tesla’s IP and management processes to the ENOVIA V6 environment.

“The Dassault Systèmes platform provides the unique ability to allow close collaboration across divisions, align expertise from all domains and share data effectively,” said Paul Lomangino, Tesla Motors. “We are now able to optimize the design and development process, facilitating concurrent development and validation across vehicle systems.”

Phase two of the implementation will involve the launch of the DELMIA digital manufacturing solution in late 2010. Future phases will migrate Tesla’s product authoring solution from CATIA V5 to CATIA V6. Additionally, Tesla is using the CATIA ICEM solution for Class A surfacing, DELMIA Human for occupant ergonomics, plus solutions from Dassault Systèmes software partners.

Tesla initially selected Dassault Systèmes’ CATIA PLM Express and ENOVIA SmarTeam over competitive solutions in 2007. Since then, Tesla has piloted numerous Dassault Systèmes software and partner solutions, leading to today’s enhanced relationship for the development of the upcoming Model S sedan. DELMIA digital manufacturing solutions will also be used to optimize production processes at Tesla’s manufacturing facility in Fremont, California.

Tesla is focused on producing premium electric vehicles, and its use of CATIA has enabled the company to achieve aggressive goals in innovation, quality and time-to-market.

“Standing here, just days before the Paris Mondial de l’Automobile, where the cars of the future will be seen, Dassault Systèmes is excited and humbled to continue our strong partnership with an innovator like Tesla Motors,” said Etienne Droit, executive vice president, Dassault Systèmes. “Tesla’s recognition of V6′s value confirms for us the automotive industry’s movement to a common, enterprise-wide PLM platform that brings serious long term efficiencies. Industry-changing innovation is not done in a vacuum and PLM Online for All brings together the collaborators in an enterprise, from the design engineers, to the sourcing managers, to manufacturing engineers. This is true PLM 2.0.”

Tesla Motors will participate in the Day One General Session of the upcoming Dassault Systèmes Customer Conference 2010, the PLM industry’s premier thought leadership conference. DSCC2010 will be held Nov 9-10, in Orlando, Florida. Further information is available at http://www.dscc2010.com.

Portland, Oregon—Idex Solutions, an engineering services company headquartered in Portland, Oregon, will partner with IBM to sell CATIA V5 software. CATIA V5 is a complete engineering program developed by Dassault Systemes. The software allows manufacturers to simulate all industrial design processes, from the pre-project phase through detailed design, analysis, simulation, assembly and maintenance.
IBM Business Partner

“Our company has been using CATIA V4, and now V5, in a production environment for many years. CATIA allows us to create and manage complex designs for our customers,” said Idex Solutions President Shaun Twyman. “Finding the right mix of personnel, services and software is our core strength—by adding sales of CATIA software to the mix, we are able to put together truly unique solutions for each customer.”

“Customers who depend on Idex for engineering, design, drafting, or consulting can now purchase the same leading-edge design software we use for in-house design assignments for Fortune 500 companies,” added David Baldwin, Director of Engineering for Idex Solutions.

Purchasers of CATIA V5 will receive consulting and on-site after-sales support delivered by industry-experienced personnel. Idex Solutions’ broad range of services provide a unique opportunity for customers to build a long-term relationship, instead of a limited or one-time sales contact.

“We’re extremely pleased about this new partnership,” said Twyman. “Such services increase the value of our company as a business partner and service provider to our customers.”

This agreement with IBM and a recent partnership with Dassault Systémes to provide specialized CATIA training strengthen Idex Solutions’ position as a premier provider of complete engineering solutions for manufacturing, aerospace, transportation, and design companies.
Portland, Oregon – September 17, 2003 — Northwest CAD Services, Inc. has changed its name to Idex Solutions. The name change is part of a corporate re-branding designed to elevate awareness of all services provided by Idex Solutions. Established in 1996, the company delivers a wide variety of engineering services to Fortune 500 clients in locations across the United States. Idex has proven expertise serving the needs of automotive, aerospace, and engineering firms.

“Our original name, Northwest CAD Services, Inc. accurately described our early service offerings, but we found it limiting as our capabilities grew over time,” says Shaun Twyman, president. “By renaming and re-branding our company, we can better communicate our expertise in many disciplines without creating confusion.”

“As Idex Solutions, we are better positioned as a multi-faceted resource to overcome many of the roadblocks encountered in today’s engineering and manufacturing companies. Our core strengths continue to include product design, process consultation and contractor placement. We will also be adding a number of new services that will increase the value of our company as a business partner and service provider.”
